The Vice President already met with Foreign Secretary David Lammy at Chevening last week

Vice President JD Vance is set to meet Reform UK leader Nigel Farage for breakfast in the Cotswolds on Wednesday.

Vance, who is visiting the UK alongside his wife Usha and their three children, already met with Shadow Justice Secretary Robert Jenrick for a one-hour, one-to-one meeting.

There had been speculation that Vance had snubbed Tory leader Kemi Badenoch during his visit to Britain.

"He specifically tried to see Kemi Badenoch, a friend of his, but a meeting was not possible due to their conflicting schedules. Any suggestion otherwise is false."

The Conservative Party also admitted that while scheduling time for a face-to-face meeting between Vance and Badenoch proved difficult, the Tory leader would speak to the Vice President this week.

However, Vance is believed to have already enjoyed a barbecue with Cambridge academic James Orr, Tory MP Danny Kruger and former Apprentice contestant Thomas Skinner.

Despite meeting with Jenrick tonight, Vance has shown a growing interest in the rise of Reform UK.

The UK's Ambassador to the US, Lord Mandelson, recently admitted: “I explained to the Vice President that, yes, highly effective populists and political actors like Farage can take advantage.

"At the end of the day, at the election people will be choosing their future Government — not having a fling, expressing a protest or demonstrating their impatience.

"And in that sense, I said, perhaps Nigel is peaking too soon."

When asked last week about whether he would meet Vance, Farage said: "We'll have to see."

The Reform UK leader has been a friend of President Donald Trump since the 2016 US Presidential Election.

Farage met with Trump at Mar-a-Lago ahead of his return to the White House earlier this year.

However, Farage also opened up about how it has proved difficult to maintain his close relationship with Trump following his victory last November.

Speaking at a press conference while Trump was meeting Sir Keir Starmer in Scotland, Farage said: "I'm in a slightly awkward position now, or he's in a slightly awkward position with me.

"I can't just bowl up on a friendly trip for diplomatic reasons, whilst he's there with the Prime Minister negotiating steel tariffs and much else, it just doesn't work."

However, Farage pointed out that he had dinner with the 47th President's son and remains on good terms with Trump's inner circle.

Farage stated: "I'm on good terms with the administration.

"My relationship with Trump has always been one of friendship, but right at the moment, diplomatically, it doesn't really work."
