By withholding information from the public, the police simply add to the chance of social unrest

Let’s be clear, Warwickshire police do not have the right to keep quiet about the rape of a 12-year-old white girl under any circumstances. But that is exactly what has happened, and it appears to be on the basis that the alleged attackers were two Afghan asylum seekers. By covering up and withholding information from the public, the police simply add to the chance of social unrest.

The timetable of silence is shocking. The girl was attacked in Cheverel Street, Nuneaton, between 8.30-9.45pm on July 22. I imagine news of such a serious assault would have spread like wildfire in the local community, but police decided to keep schtum. Effectively, they put X for no publicity. Astonishing.

Four days later, Ahmad Mulakhil, 23, who arrived from across the Channel by boat, was arrested. Still no publicity.

Last Monday, Mulakhil appeared at Coventry Magistrates’ Court, where he was charged with vaginal and oral rape. Surprised that local journalists didn’t put two and two together. They may have been warned off by the police (journalists are looked on as the ‘’enemy’’ by many officers) or more likely the charge didn’t make clear the background of the alleged attacker.

Anyway, for whatever reason, there was still no publicity concerning the rape of a young girl.

On Saturday, another Afghan, Mohammad Kabir,23, appeared before the same court, charged with strangulation and kidnap of the girl who is now receiving specialist care.

Even then, there was no publicity. But thanks to a source contacting the Mail on Sunday, the story began to come out, and it finally appeared on MailOnline last night.
So, for 12 days, the people of Nuneaton (and the rest of the nation) appear to have been deliberately kept in the dark over a shocking attack on a young girl. That is not defensible.

It emerges that selected council officials were told about the alleged rape and the arrests, but were advised not to disclose the information, as the public apparently could not be trusted. The expression ‘’social cohesion’’ was bandied about.

Nigel Farage, the leader of Reform, which runs Warwickshire County Council, got it right when he said that police and elected officials were acting "against the British people’’ with the alleged 'cover-up'.

I would be interested to know if the police didn’t disclose the attack and arrests to Reform’s county councillors because they feared they would go public with the information.

Labour is the major political party in Nuneaton, but there is no overall control of the council. Did anybody at Nuneaton council know, and if they did, why weren’t we told?

Warwickshire Police issued a statement saying they were following national guidelines and do not have to share ethnicity or immigration status once somebody has been charged.

The two accused, and we know this from the charge sheet, live in HMOs in Nuneaton. We know this from the charge sheet.

The owner of the house is quoted in the Mail on Sunday as saying she was ‘’sickened to the stomach’’ by the allegations.

I wonder what Starmer, whose lack of action has led to tens of thousands of asylum seekers coming ashore at Dover, makes of this apparent cover-up?

Illegal migration is the biggest issue facing the nation, and yet it’s the smallest thing talked about at No10.
