Is Britain broken? Well, here’s something utterly mind-boggling - according to our Labour Prime Minister, the answer is no - everything is absolutely fine…
I honestly don’t know what planet Sir Keir Starmer is living on: just look around the country we’re living in today.
Economically, we are facing soaring inflation, with the current rate of 3.8 per cent, nearly double the Bank of England’s target. Unemployment stands at a four year high. Businesses are closing at the fastest rate since the dark days of Covid.
Productivity is falling through the floor, and our GDP per capita - a key measure of living standards - has sunk so low, it’s now lower than Italy’s.
British housing stock is reaching breaking point, says Matt Goodwin

British housing stock is also reaching breaking point. In the middle of our ongoing housing crisis, we are still allowing net migration of more than 400,000 each and every year.
Despite promising to build ONE AND A HALF MILLION new homes, this Labour government managed just 90,000 completions between July and December last year - an even slower rate of building than the Tories before them.
It seems the only way to guarantee yourself housing in modern Britain in 2025, is to arrive on a small boat.
Which leads me on to the undeniable disaster our borders have become. Later in tonight’s show, we’ll delve into the complete and utter carnage immigration is wreaking on this nation… with illegal migration now hitting record highs under Labour, as almost 28,000 illegal migrants cross the English channel this year alone. That represented a rise of almost 50 per cent compared to last year. The number of asylum seekers being housed in hotels is up eight per cent, too, suggesting the crisis is worsening…
And it’s not just me who’s thinking this way… the British public largely seems to agree. Recent polling (June 2025) shows that 65 per cent of us believe Britain is “already broken”.
By pretending the country he’s running into the ground is, in fact, plodding along quite nicely, Sir Keir Starmer once again shows how completely and utterly adrift he is from the concerns of his electorate.
We can all see what’s happening to our country, to our communities. All Number 10 have to offer as reassurance seems to be gaslighting, and attempts to divert the blame…
What we now need to do - rather than just complain about the dire state of our once-great nation - is actually try to do something to fix it.
On this show, we’re constantly suggesting positive alternatives on how to fix Britain: leaving the ECHR, lowering the highest tax burden the country has faced in nearly a century… the list goes on.
There is a better way forward for Britain… and almost all of us can see it. The only person who can’t, it seems, is the man in charge of fixing it.
