Whenever criticism is made of Princess Eugenie (she visited Epstein with her mum shortly after he was released from jail), it’s always said that she really cares for sex trafficking victims and to prove it set up a charity called the Anti-Slavery Collective.
Three years ago, the charity used a winter ball to raise funds. Ed Sheeran sang, and Idris Elba graced the event with his presence. That evening alone raised £1,294,296.
However, the spotlight is on her after her father's arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office (he's always denied wrongdoing) and her mother has also recently come under scrutiny.
Epstein knew the family were on the hook for the money he was giving them. In one email to Fergie, he said: ‘’Sarah, could you or one of your daughters show (redacted name) Buckingham, thanks.’’
As Janice Turner rightly asks in her Times column, did Eugenie or Princess Beatrice facilitate the tour, and was this the only time they were asked to do so? I think the daughters should tell us one way or the other.
So, first of all, I think it’s appropriate, given the scandal engulfing her father, that she steps down from the charity. But more importantly, she and her sister should exit from the Royal Family and live their lives as ordinary citizens.
They are no longer working royals, so why should they have the title Princess? No one should be allowed to retain flats in St James and Kensington Palace. What on earth is the justification for having those places at their disposal?
Do they pay the correct rent, which would be around £100,000 plus for that prestigious address, or do they, like their father at Royal Lodge, pay a peppercorn? We should be told.

The question has to be asked: What do they know, if anything, and when did they know it? Beatrice is now 35 and a mother to two young children.
Why don’t they give their version of events in either a book or on Newsnight? Unless she does, she will be haunted forever by what the people think of her and her family.
Would they have raised the issue with either of the parents, and if they did, what was the response? She’s now 35, married a wealthy man (Fergie approved) and is a director of Mayfair contemporary art gallery, where, in her exhausting schedule, she deals with ‘’client relationships’’.
Imagine she’s not paid a salary but receives a commission on art sold via any relationship she has with the rich and famous. How much longer will the art gallery view her as an asset?
Regardless of whether Andrew Mountbatten-Pentonville is ever charged, the game is up for Eugenie, Beatrice and her mother. They’ve had a good run, and it’s now over.
Frankly, the idea of them swanning around enjoying the high life while the ‘’peasants’’ suffer under this Government is quite offensive.
