And now the joke's on them.

Many of the faces on and off screen may have changed since GB News first went On Air on the thirteenth of June 2021.

But every one of them has played their part in what we are today.

We are an organisation that embodies what it is to be human.

Unlike many media outlets, faceless - monolithic institutions ran by machine-like executives, we are a living and breathing entity with the people of Britain as our lifeblood.

As such, like you and every other human, we do get things wrong, but we also get plenty right.

Four years of relentless hard work and we are getting stronger by the day.

But that doesn’t mean ‘they’ – the sinister anti-GB News lobby who have hounded us since the first camera red light flicked on – have given up trying to shut us down.

Why do they hate us?

I’ll tell you why – it’s YOU.

They hate the fact that we treat you as equals.

They hate the fact we democratise the news – opening the freedom of the airwaves up to you.

Since day one it’s been our mission to let you take control of the narratives around your lives and give you the space to speak your minds, honestly and freely.

There’s still plenty in the establishment – media, politics, most of our institutions – who have dominated the public space for decades, bellyaching about what’s important to them, and what they thought was important for you to hear.

I’ll repeat that.

Not even what you wanted to hear.

No, it was what they thought was important for you to hear.

Controlling the news as they saw fit, treating you like fools not to be trusted with reality, believing you incapable of making up your own minds.

But we think differently.

We would never treat our audience as fools.

The moment we do that would be the moment we would deserve to be switched off for good.

It’s not just some corny motif thought up by advertising executives, we are The People’s Channel.

We really believe in doing this for you.

And in the eyes of our enemies that makes us very dangerous.

But we are happy to be a danger, a danger only to them and their outdated and malign ways that haven’t worked for anyone, damaging this once great country.

But there is hope.

Look at the way the country has changed since that first GB News broadcast.

In 2021 there was a tight, vein-popping, stranglehold on free speech.

Self-appointed and unaccountable guardians of public converse decided what could and couldn’t be said.

Words, ideas, thoughts, and beliefs that had long been acceptable – and still should have been – were banned without anyone knowing why.

People kept quiet, scared of being shouted down or being cancelled for speaking their mind.

Plenty didn’t even dare to ask why.

People’s opinions were trapped within, unsaid.

Our so-called leaders bought into it too.

On the one hand they were scared themselves – fearful of losing their gilded careers and power – much of which gained thanks to a system that’s anything but meritocratic.

But on the other hand, they were happy to play along with the new way.

It made things easier – do you see?

After all, with you, the people, silenced, they could get away with less scrutiny, freer to exploit their position and not face the questioning they deserved and what a true democracy should demand.

But in your name, we have challenged this new, warped orthodoxy from day one.

By encouraging free, fearless, but lawful and respectful speech, the fake so-called sacred cows have been seen off.

What had been deemed unsayable can be said again.

The political world has been completely transformed in the past four years.

Prime Ministers and Presidents have come and gone.

Parties, new and old have faced scrutiny like never before in an ever more digital-led world with fewer shadows for political scoundrels to skulk.

We’ll never be behind one party, hell, we’ve fallen out with them all and we’re proud of that.

We’ll only ever be behind you, the people of Britain.

We’re not saying things are perfect now.

They never will be, that’s the nature of humanity.

But speech is freer, and the grip has been loosened.

We will keep clawing away at the hands around all our necks – you have our word on that.

We’ve fought to prove ourselves and win your trust.

Those four years have gone ridiculously fast.

But the future is our focus.

A future where I’m sure ‘they’ will keep trying to kill us off by any means necessary.
