How can a man who proclaimed himself a proud libertarian even countenance the sort of health apartheid we now see tearing apart so-called liberal democracies like Austria and Germany?

I don’t care if it’s part of his so-called dead cat strategy to deflect attention from the plethora of disgustingly hypocritical No10 2020 Christmas parties, Boris Johnson’s pledge to start a “national conversation” about mandatory vaccination is downright dangerous.

How can a man who proclaimed himself a proud libertarian even countenance the sort of health apartheid we now see tearing apart so-called liberal democracies like Austria and Germany?

But disturbingly the introduction of vaccine passports next week as part of what I’m calling Plan BS signals a creep in the direction of a biosecurity state that even controls what medical procedures you undergo.

Those who choose not to be vaccinated for whatever reason - be it natural immunity or on moral or health grounds - will from next week start being banned from parts of day-to-day life, including concerts and other large events.

For a government obsessed with levelling up, it’s the poor and ethnically diverse who will be worst hit by the start of a two-tier society.

But Boris Johnson made it clear he is actively considering forcibly jabbing his citizens when asked this question by a member of the public at last night’s hastily called Downing Street press briefing.

That is utterly chilling.

What is the man thinking?

He would be unleashing unprecedented civil unrest on the country, as all citizens who believe in liberty and basic human rights - including millions of vaccinated folk like me - would take to the streets and stand up against a policy I can’t even believe we’re discussing.

Labour is a huge danger here.

Front bencher Thangam Debbonaire refused to rule out her party backing mandatory vaccination last night on the BBC.

Remember this is a party who don’t think the current unnecessary Covid restrictions go far enough - with Labour’s potty Welsh First Minister Mark Drakeford reported to want a total Christmas lockdown.

Sturgeon would completely destroy the economy with lockdowns if she could to advance the futile cause of Scottish independence.

So now it is up to the Tory freedom fighters to exercise the correct moral judgement by campaigning against vaccine passports and mandatory vaccination, no matter the consequences to their careers.

It’s clear the Health Secretary Sajid Javid doesn’t support the PM from this answer on BBC Breakfast this morning…

Er, no he wasn’t and it’s intellectually dishonest to play down his proposal.

For too long good, senior and moral ministers like Grant Shapps, Rishi Sunak and Liz Truss have hidden behind collective Cabinet responsibility as our civil liberties and freedoms are stripped away bit by bit in the name of Covid - a virus with a 99.8 per cent survival rate.

Shapps reportedly accused the authoritarian mad man Michael Gove of wanting to “kill the whole economy” during Tuesday’s Cabinet.

But mandatory vaccination must be the red line for these ministers.

The time has come to resign if you have to in order to stop this completely unnecessary madness.

The future of basic human rights in the UK and a united country is relying on it.

Boris, for the good of the country, you must immediately admit you made a mistake to suggest a “national conversation” about compulsory vaccination and rule it out once and for all.
