'It also turns out that these well meaning, helpful interpreters might have also been working for the Taliban'

Do you remember earlier this week when it turned out successive Governments had lied to you about secretly bringing Afghan refugees into Britain?

You know that little story about how thousands of them came over, some members of our own armed forces were apparently turfed out of their homes to make way for them, it cost the taxpayer somewhere between £850million and £7billion quid.

And then they moved them into towns across Britain and people were like, 'why are there so many Afghans?'

And you were told your eyes were deceiving you. There had in fact always been a large Pashtun population in Bracknell.

And then it turned out they took a super-injunction out to stop people like me reporting on it.

Well today it turns out loads of them might be fake asylum seekers. Defence sources today told The Telegraph that of the 100,000 people revealed in this data breach, as few as one in 16 people identified had genuine claims for resettlement.

One 16-year-old Afghan was charged with a sexual offence near a British military base.

We were told he was brought over under one of the Afghan schemes, but now there are concerns he was brought over under this secret scheme.

It also turns out that these well meaning, helpful interpreters, might have also been working for the Taliban.

We know the stats show that Afghans are more likely than any other nationality to commit a sex crime in Britain.

So the question is - was it really the right thing to bring these people over?
