Iran has warned Israel that it will suffer a “huge earthquake” if it does not stop attacks on Gaza as tension in the Middle East rapidly grows.
Iran’s foreign minister said he will be contacting UN officials in the Middle East but it "might be too late tomorrow.”
The UN had called for Israel to halt the counter-offensive with UNRWA's director of communications, Juliette Touma warning that Gaza is being "pushed into an abyss".
“This is the worst we’ve ever seen, This is hitting rock bottom. This is Gaza being pushed into an abyss, there is tragedy unfolding as the world is watching," she told the BBC.

"According to colleagues on the ground, there is an exodus. People are leaving. Those who can, with their cars, some are walking, some are carrying mattresses. People are terrified".
More than 2,200 people have been killed in Israel's counter-offensive on the Gaza Strip, according to Palestinian figures.
Israel considers Hezbollah its most serious immediate threat, with its estimated 150,000 rockets and missiles along with thousands of war-hardened fighters who fought alongside the Syrian regime.
Following last Saturday's attack, Hezbollah fighters have been on full alert along Lebanon’s borders.
Foreign minister, Hossein Amirabdollahian told reporters: “I know about the scenarios that Hizbollah has put in place.
“Any step the resistance (Hezbollah) will take will cause a huge earthquake in the Zionist entity.

“I want to warn the war criminals and those who support this entity before it’s too late to stop the crimes against civilians in Gaza, because it might be too late in a few hours."
On Saturday, the Israeli military said a drone strike along the border with Lebanon killed a “cell” that was trying to invade Israel.
Hezbollah fighters fired a barrage of rockets and shells at Israeli positions in the disputed Chebaa Farms.
The Iranian foreign minister said he will be contacting UN officials in the Middle East because “there is still an opportunity to work on an initiative (to end the war) but it might be too late tomorrow.”
Previously a monthlong war between Hezbollah and Israel in 2006 ended in a hostile deadlock.

In a statement, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said it was preparing to "expand the offensive" with a "wide range of offensive operational plans" which it says include a "joint and coordinated attack from the air, sea and land."
The UN has warned of an impending humanitarian crisis after Israel gave an order to evacuate 1.1million people living in the north of Gaza on Friday.
Israel was accused of breaking international law over the sudden order to leave, with aid agencies warning such an unprecedented evacuation was impossible.
