Britons have been issued with a fresh travel warning for the Netherlands amid changes to border checks in the country.
The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) has today updated information about temporary border controls for British holidaymakers entering the Netherlands.
It says additional entry checks may be carried out on "major roads" leading into the Netherlands.
Checks could also take place on international trains and on intra-Schengen flights, Britons have been warned.
"This information is for people travelling on a full ‘British citizen’ passport from the UK," the FCDO said.
"It is based on the UK Government’s understanding of the Netherlands’ current rules for the most common types of travel.
"The authorities in the Netherlands set and enforce entry rules. If you’re not sure how these requirements apply to you, contact the Netherlands Embassy in the UK."
Belgium has also recently introduced additional entry checks at its borders, which will be in place until December, 2025.
The FCDO said the checks can be carried out on major roads leading into the country, at motorway car parks, international trains and on intra-Schengen flights.

Britons have been advised that they must carry their passport with them at all times when in Belgium.
The news follows a delay to the EU's introduction of the Entry/Exit System (EES).
The EES is a new digital border system that will change requirements for Britons travelling to the Schengen area.
It was previously meant to be implemented in 2022, but has since been postponed over five times and is now scheduled to be rolled out in October.
