Welcome To Sex was slammed as 'ridiculous' after describing men as 'penis owners' and women as 'vagina owners'

GB News readers have been left fuming after a “disgusting” sex guide aimed at children as young as eight hit UK shelves earlier this month.

Welcome To Sex included a number of chapters about sex, sexual health and relationships.

The book, written by award-winning authors Dr Melissa Kang and Yumi Stynes, included illustrations of masturbation, “scissoring” and gender curiosity.

The "no-silly-questions guide to sexuality, pleasure and figuring it out" also issues advice on oral sex and explains how "two penis-owners have anal sex".

Stynes sparked controversy after claiming a “mature eight-year-old could flick through” the book.

GB News readers were furious about the book, with many calling for authorities to “ban it” from shelves.

One reader said: “Penis 'owner', vagina 'owner' - ridiculous. Is it discriminatory now to use man or woman?

“This pathetic publication will do nothing other than confuse and scare young people.”

A third said the book was “wrong on so many levels” as another argued “ don’t buy this tripe”.

GB News readers also took to social media to vent their frustrations.

Others described the book as “bloody repellent” and a “total outrage”.

The book, which also discusses porn, sexual positions and LGBTQI issues, already sparked concern in Australia when it was published last summer.

Stynes addressed previous criticisms of the book Down Under, saying: “If you don’t want to read it, by all means, don’t read it.”

She added that she hopes the book will be a "trusted resource" that will stop parents falling into saying the "wrong thing or saying something that's informed by sexism or bad science".
