Wetherspoons has announced that a selected number of their pubs will open throughout Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral on Monday.
The day of the funeral has been declared a public holiday, with many shops and supermarkets announcing that they would be closing out of respect for the former monarch.
Wetherspoons has said most of its venues will shut for Monday’s service before opening at about 1pm.
But the pub company added that its central London, railway station, hotel and airport pubs will open at 8 am and close at midnight.

The selected pubs will remain open throughout the funeral.
A Wetherspoon spokesman said: “Pub company Wetherspoon is opening its pubs in central London, rail stations and airports and all of its hotels (hotels will be open for resident guests only) during normal trading hours from 8am until midnight on Monday September 19.
“The majority of its pubs will open later than usual, after the state funeral, at approximately 1pm and will remain open during normal trading hours after that.”
The likes of McDonalds and Greggs have announced they will close for the funeral.
McDonald’s which has 1,300 sites across the UK, said outlets will be allowed to reopen at 5pm.
In a statement on Twitter, McDonald’s said: “In honour of HM Queen Elizabeth II and to enable everyone at McDonald’s to pay their respects, our restaurants across the UK will be closed from midnight until 5pm on Monday 19th September.”
Deliveries will also not be available until after 5pm, the company has said.
While Greggs said in a statement: “To give our colleagues the opportunity to pay their respects to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Greggs shops will be closed on Monday 19th September.
“A small number of our shops, operated by our franchise partners, may remain open.
“Thanks for your understanding.”
