But two months later, the bird was found by police during a raid on her flat, with Ms Free Miles subsequently being investigated for suspected involvement in the Animal Liberation Front.

The front is an animal rights activist group who are known for removing animals from laboratories and farms.

The tribunal were not informed as to how Ms Free Miles came to obtain the turkey.

After hearing the news of the incident, the Royal Vet College suspended Ms Free Miles before she was later sacked for breaching the universities “no pet policy”.

While the turkey was handed over to the RSPCA after it was found "unwell".

Ms Free Miles tried to sue the university over the incident, claiming unfair dismissal and that she had been discriminated against for her ethical veganism beliefs.

But the panel dismissed her claim after finding that her actions were not a philosophical belief.
