The pair were quickly prosecuted and both pleaded guilty to theft charges.
Zoher was slapped with a 18-day prison sentence, with Amatullah jailed for one week.
State Prosecuting Officer Ng Chee Wee was present at the couple's sentencing and told the court that Zoher had "stolen out of greed".
Wee added: "He had a habit of overspending, and he did not want to pay."
The couple can consider themselves as being let off lightly, with theft in the wealthy city-state carrying a maximum punishment of three years in prison and a fine.

|Singapore is notorious for having one of the toughest justice systems in the world.
In the southeast Asian nation, people can face arrest for chewing gum, singing in public and not flushing a public toilet.
The former British colony has a particularly tough stance on drugs, with people caught taking illegal substances facing long prison stints and dozens of lashings with a cane.
Anyone caught involved in drug dealing faces the death penalty.
