A group of Jewish students were forced to hide and lock themselves in a library away from mobs of pro-Palestine activists.

The crowd were seen banging on the door of the library during the terrifying ordeal as a spate of pro-Palestinian protests took place across the US.

The horror scenes unfolded at Cooper Union, a liberal college near Astor Place in Manhattan where a crowd were heard chanting "Free, free Palestine" in the lobby of the building.

However, the crowd barged past a security guard and hammered on the door of the library, where the Jewish students had taken refuge.

Nobody was reportedly injured and the protest was dispersed.

In other parts of the US, similar pro-Palestinian campaigns caused uproar among communities, including at Cornell University where hateful anti-Israel graffiti was left.

The vandalism at the Ithaca Ivy League school was spotted just days after a professor described the October 7 attack as "exhilarating" and "energizing".

Messages such as "F**k Israel" and "Zionism = Racism" were found on the campus sidewalk.

At Columbia University any supporters of Israel were told they were banned from an upcoming black lesbian film event.

The leader of LGBTQ group, LionLez sent out a message to students promoting an on-campus "Black Lesbian Film" event said no "Zionists" would be welcome to attend.

The promotional message read: "It’s FREE PALESTINE over here. Zionists aren’t invited. See you soon, Lion Lez."

A copy of the ad also included a message that noted "THE HOLOCAUST WASN’T SPECIAL."

While pupils at George Washington University projected pro-terror, anti-Israel messages onto a school library.

Messages displayed on the campus building in Washington said: "Glory to our martyrs," "Divestment from Zionist genocide now," and "Free Palestine from the river to the sea."

Concerns about the hateful messages have been voiced by social media account Stop Antisemitism which called on George Washington University President Ellen M. Granberg "to immediately expel those involved."
