Urgent product recall issued by Lidl over Easter eggs with Britons warned: 'Do not eat'

A large UK supermarket was forced to recall an Easter item over a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk and milk constituents
Lidl has issued an urgent product recall order as one of its chocolate Easter eggs contains milk which is not mentioned on the label.
The Deluxe Ecuadorian Single Origin Easter Egg was labelled a possible health risk for anyone suffering with an allergy or intolerance to either milk or milk constituents.
Lactose intolerant Brits should be particularly concerned about the recall order.
Milk allergy symptoms range from rashes, itching, and swelling on skin to vomiting, stomach cramps and diarrhoea.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) also said there was a “possible” health risk after publishing an alert.
Customers have been urged not to eat the product if they have purchased it.
They can also receive a full refund by returning the item to their nearest store.
Lidl said: “Lidl GB is recalling the above-mentioned product as the product may contain milk which is not declared on the label.
“This may be a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.
If you have bought the above product and have an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents, we advise you not to eat it.
“Customers are asked to return this product to the nearest store where a full refund will be given.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your cooperation.”

The Deluxe Ecuadorian Single Origin Easter is a fair trade dark chocolate made from 70 per cent cocoa.
It also reportedly comes with a subtle floral aroma.
The supermarket also said no other Deluxe products in British Lidl stores have been affected by the recall.
Supermarkets can issue recall orders if there is a risk to consumers because allergy labelling is missing, incorrect or if there is any other risk.
But a recall order can also be brought in if there is a problem with a food product which means it should not be sold.
