The Department of Health has claimed they are 'working with NHS England' to 'reform children's gender services'

GB News hosts Bev Turner and Andrew Pierce have expressed their outrage at the NHS offering toddlers gender treatment - after scrapping a minimum age limit of seven years old.

The health service had previously stated that children under seven were "just too young" to be considered to have gender dysphoria.

However, new guidance is set to be published confirming that even nursery-age children who believe they are transgender will be eligible for treatment at NHS gender clinics.

The waiting list for children seeking gender care has grown significantly, with 6,225 young people now waiting for treatment across England and Wales.

Delivering their verdict on the rise of children seeking gender services, Britain's Newsroom hosts Andrew Pierce and Bev Turner were left outraged questioning why the parents of these children are "going along with it".

Highlighting the recent Cass Review, Andrew fumed: "I thought this had all been stopped with the Cass review? And now it seems the NHS is still treating nursery age children.

"Why are mum and dad are even going along with it?"

In agreement with Andrew, Bev added: "It's things like a boy that wants to wear dresses to play with dolls, like a girl who wants to kick a football or maybe have her hair short. And the problem is, I think the parents are the ones behind this.

"You say this is normal, and children play around with gender roles, as they have done since the beginning of time - you don't march them off to the doctor and get their heads looked at by a psychiatrist."

Criticising the "lack of confidence" parents have in raising their children, Bev explained: "Why are they doing it? Because they are reading that it's normal now, they're confused - they lack confidence as parents to say no.

"Before the Tavistock Clinic was closed, it is baffles me, they were seeing three new children under seven every month.

"That means there are three families with children under seven, who thought it was normal to take their child to a clinic for advice on their gender."

Noting that the NHS has been demanded by the "wretched trans lobby" to scrap their minimum age limit of "seven", Andrew questioned "what are we doing to our children?"

As Bev exclaimed that it is "unbelievable", Andrew continued: "Apparently the health service had set a minimum age of seven for children to be seen by specialist gender clinics - I think that's too young, frankly, far too young.

"But that limit's now been removed after the proposal was put up to consultation. And you know why? Because the wretched trans lobby have lobbied and put pressure on the NHS.

"So you've now got three year olds being talked to about their gender. For God's sake, what are we doing to our children?"

In a statement, the Department of Health said: "We are working with NHS England to reform children's gender services, in line with the recommendations from the Cass Review to provide children with timely, holistic support."

An NHS Spokesman said: "The primary objective of the service for children under the age of seven is to provide support and guidance to the parents/carers rather than initiate clinical interactions with the child.

"The appropriateness of a referral of a child under seven would first be agreed by paediatric or mental health specialists and the new Children and Young People’s Gender Services through pre-referral consultation."
