The GB News host had recently teamed up with cleaners to remove graffiti from London underground trains

GB News host Tom Harwood has launched a scathing attack on Transport for London Commissioner Andy Lord, after he claimed that people cleaning graffiti on London's tube network are "creating" the vandalism.

Speaking at the London Assembly alongside Mayor Sir Sadiq Khan, Lord told representatives: "Groups are taking it upon themselves to clear up graffiti on the tube network.

"Firstly, I would ask anybody not to take this matter into their own hands. We also have evidence of people creating graffiti and then removing it, so that's being investigated by the relevant authorities."

Having recently been out himself to help clean graffiti off of London's underground trains, the Good Afternoon Britain anchor was outraged by Lord's claim.

Tom stated: "He thinks that we sprayed that on? There is no one other than the Looking for Growth graffiti cleaning team that go out and clean the tubes. There is literally no one else that I've seen that does this.

"There is no way that he's referring to anyone other than me and my friends there, and I take that as absolutely extraordinary conspiracy."

He raged: "Frankly, he should take off his tinfoil hat. The fact that he can sit there next to the Mayor of London and accuse me and my friends of spraying graffiti on the tube to then film it to get clicks online, what a nonsense conspiracy theory.

"The fact that the guy who runs TfL believes that people need to spray graffiti on the tube anyway, clearly he hasn't been on the tube in the last six months."

In a further attack on Lord, Tom revealed how much the TfL chief earns, claiming it is "no wonder" he doesn't know the state of the underground trains.

He told cohost Emily Carver: "It's completely littered with graffiti. I checked how much he's paid by the taxpayer, by the way. Total renumeration last year, £639,164.

"No wonder he never gets the blooming train. No wonder he has no idea of the state of the tube."

In a direct offer to Lord, Tom invited the TfL boss to join him on the underground train to witness the graffiti himself: "I want to make a make an offer to the TfL chief.

"Andy, I will accompany you on a visit to the Bakerloo line. I can only assume you haven't ridden on one of the services that you're nominally in charge of in the last six months, and you haven't seen the state of these tube carriages.

"I want to make this open and clear offer to you right now. Andy Lord, come with me to see the Bakerloo line."

Hitting out at the "absolute insanity" of the claims, Tom concluded: "The absolute insanity of it all, they live in a parallel world. I am absolutely amazed by this.

"I've seen out of touch politicians in my time, but I think he's embarrassed that volunteers, some young guys from London decided to go out and clean some of this graffiti, because it showed him up.

"It showed that it's possible to do and it shows the weight of the not only the tubes themselves, but the politicians and the people in charge who just have zero ability to direct this service to make decent."
