A number of theatres across the UK will begin advertising the size of their seats in an attempt to help better aide accessibility requirements for those attending their events.
Some have already started sharing the width and legroom of the seats in their venues in order to encourage “fat accessibility”.
It comes after a number of complaints were made by people unable to fit into seats at some venues, leaving them unhappy with their overall experience.
It is hoped by providing the information online, attendees will have a better experience during their visit.

Sofie Hagen, a 33-year-old comedian, announced that their latest tour would solely take place in venues which supply the dimensions of the seats on their website, or have announced an intention to do so in the future, explaining: “On my next tour, I will only do venues that agree to add Fat Accessibility Information to their websites permanently.”
Some of the venues that are already publishing the information include Leeds Grand Theatre, The Tiverton Community Arts Theatre and Chorley Theatre in Yorkshire, although some venues refer to it as “seat accessibility” as opposed to “fat accessibility information”.

A number of people shared their support for the comedian's move, with one saying: "I know your tour will be awesome but getting venues to include Fat Accessibility Info on their sites is your true legacy."
Another said: "Oh my god how helpful seating information like this would be for venues... I almost broke a hip in march and am currently concerned about a couple of upcoming shows I'm going to this month because I don't know what kind of seats they have."
