Two climate change activists stole food from Tesco and dressed in the supermarket’s uniform to hand out products to members of the public for free.
The pair, wearing lanyards that read “Tesco: Very Little Help”, stole items from a branch in Glasgow city centre on Wednesday.
They also stood in front of a sign in Tesco’s font which read: “Serving our customers, communities and planet a little better every day.”
The protesters are members of This is Rigged, a Scottish group demanding price slashes in supermarkets. Specifically, they want stores to reduce the cost of baby formula to March 2021 prices.

This is Rigged also wants the Scottish government to fully fund and bring in a community food hub per every 500 households in Scotland.
Handing out the stolen items out of a trolley to passers-by, the group have described their actions as “redistributive”.
The pair gave out bread and roses, in a nod to a speech by Helen Todd, an American women’s suffrage activist who called for “bread for all, and roses too.”
In a statement released on social media, the group said: “We are asking for the bare minimum: our inalienable human right to baseline food security; but we are also asking for dignity. No longer will we beg for scraps from the tables of greedy CEOs.

“No longer will we be at the mercy of corporations who price us out of eating on a whim, dependent on them to provide us with our foundational needs. No longer will we tolerate a criminally incompetent government that refuses to address the crisis of food insecurity in this country.”#
Earlier this week, activists from the group occupied the royal dining room at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.
Nine protesters, wielding banners with slogans such as “change begins in the kitchen, not the boardroom,” entered the palace and sat at the table, eating food out of Tupperware they brought.
The impacted wing of the Palace of Holyroodhouse has been temporarily closed to the public.

Josephine O’Connor, 22, a student based in Glasgow, said: “I’m taking action because I’m really worried about the future.
“As the many crises that we are facing are continuing to worsen, it becomes more apparent that those with power are not coming to help, that profit once again reigns higher than people.
“This is in our hands … we need to speak up and take up space because it is our future.”
The group claimed one-in-four Scots have experienced food insecurity.
It added that 1,000 children per year are being taken to hospital with malnutrition.
