A shocking video has resurfaced showing a suspected shoplifter attacking a security guard at a Portsmouth Tesco, throwing punches and hurling a beer crate at his face.
The dramatic footage, which was filmed at Fratton Tesco Extra, captures the violent confrontation.
In the video, the man can be seen taking multiple swings at the security guard before launching what appears to be a 12-pack crate of Madri beer at him.
The incident unfolded as shoppers and staff watched on, before a customer intervened to tackle the aggressor to the ground.

The footage shows the security guard backing away as the man continues to take multiple swings at him.
After the beer crate is thrown, a bystander suddenly intervenes, tackling the aggressive man to the ground.
"Stay f***ing down, there's kids in here mate," the intervening customer can be heard shouting in the video.
The restrained man repeatedly pleads, "get me out, get me out, get me out", while being held on the floor.

Despite being pinned down, the man eventually manages to find enough strength to get up and walk away.
As he does so, the security guard attempts to kick his feet out from underneath him, but fails to stop him.
Hampshire Police confirmed they were called to the incident at 6:03pm on Thursday, December 28, 2023, following "a report of an assault on a member of security staff at the Tesco store in Fratton Way, Portsmouth".
Tesco was understood to be assisting police with their enquiries at the time of the incident.

A Hampshire Police spokesman said: "A 29-year-old man from Havant was arrested in connection with the incident.
"Following a thorough investigation, and the victim not supporting the prosecution, the arrested man was released without charge."
A violent confrontation also erupted at a Tesco store in Finsbury Park, north London, as staff and alleged shoplifters hurled metal baskets and crates at each other.
The fierce stand-off took place at the doors of the high street supermarket while innocent shoppers looked on in horror.
