The overhaul will save customers money on everyday items
Tesco has announced it will replace many products sold in its Express stores with cheaper items.
More than 50 everyday products will be switched out for more cost-effective alternatives, in an attempt to help customers save money.
The supermarket said that a lot of the products being swapped are branded products, and instead will be substituted with its own-brand range.
Some of the own-brand items are less than a third of the price of the products they are replacing.

Tesco customers will find that the new products are over 40 per cent cheaper than the branded products, the supermarket chain said.
Among the own-brand products being introduced are Tesco penne pasta (85p) and Tesco smooth peanut butter (£1.65), both of which will cost half the price of the original branded version.
Express stores will also stock Tesco frozen garden peas (£1.65) which will be almost 40 per cent cheaper than its branded predecessor.
Another example is Tesco basmati rice pouches (75p) which will save customers approximately 30 per cent.
But the discounts don’t just stop at food.
Some branded lines, including toothpaste, are also being replaced by a cheaper alternative.
The price of branded nappies in Express stores will be slashed by up to 40 per cent too.
Tesco Convenience Managing Director Sarah Lawler said: “We know customers are watching every penny at the moment, so we hope these helpful product swaps will bring down food bills for even more families.

“Our Express stores offer unbeatable value on everything from essentials to fresh produce, making healthy food more accessible for the 2,000 communities that we serve across the UK.
“And while our convenience stores don’t have the shelf space to carry the full range of our larger shops, by swapping these products, we’ve been able to make way for even more of our great-value own brand ranges.”
The new products will be delivered into their convenience stores over the coming two weeks.
The overhaul is expected to be completed by the end of August.
