Pollster and political commentator Matt Goodwin has said that Sweden and France's "major problems" could be heading for Britain as the UK continues to battle mass migration.
Goodwin explained that "unless we hit pause" we could end up with a "bleak" future in Britain.
Speaking to GB News he said: "I was in Sweden recently, and it used to be held up as the case study for how immigration works. Sweden was notoriously liberal. It was very tolerant.
"The Swedes basically redefine their national identity around pro-immigration, I was there a couple of weeks ago. I could not find a serious senior person on the left or right of Swedish politics who said that mass immigration worked out for Sweden.

"What I heard instead was a cross-party consensus that mass migration has been a disaster for Swedish society. It has driven and produced gang violence.
"It has left the Swedes feeling scared and anxious in their own country, and it has given them a very depressing sense that things are going to get worse, that the present is already worse in the past."

He added: "The future is going to be even more bleak. And you can see that in the data, Sweden by the year 2050, if you look at the Pew Research Center, will be about 31 per cent Muslim by 2050 because of decisions Sweden has made.
"If Sweden is reaching that conclusion and France is reaching that conclusion, it tells you a lot, actually, about the impact of mass migration.
"I think this is a real test now for Britain and England unless we hit pause and freeze all non-essential migration for a long period. I think we are going to have some very serious problems in our country, like Sweden, France, Germany and Italy.
"Those problems we can already see, we've begun to see them over the last 20 years. They will become more acute.
Matt Goodwin said we need to "hit pause" on mass migration
GB News"I'm happy to be a dissenting voice and keep saying over and over again, this is going to be a very big mistake.
"We need to hit pause. We need to completely overturn multiculturalism.
"We need a much more assimilationist model of integration, which essentially says we're not going to tolerate people who don't tolerate our way of life anymore.
"We need to establish a boundary around that and a framework that delivers on that in a much more serious way."

The former head of Border Force told GB News that Labour's plans to smash the gangs will be very difficult to achieve and rely on the complete cooperation of many other countries.
Tony Smith said: "I understand there will be new legislation, new powers afforded to the Border Security Command, akin to those that we see for prevention of terrorism. I think my main concern is that most of the offences we're talking about are not committed in the UK. They're committed on mainland Europe and particularly in France.
"And I think that we may run into the same problems the previous government encountered in just how far will Frontex, the French authorities, the EU Commission enable British officers to exercise extraterritorial powers, even if they're entitled to do that here in the UK, under the new legislation."
