A gunman is still at large after a shooting left a man seriously injured and in hospital.
The man suffered "serious gunshot wounds" after being attacked on Peel Road in Skelmersdale, Lancashire at about 7.35pm last night.
A spokesperson from Lancashire Police said that no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
An investigation has been launched into the shooting as members of the public are being urged to avoid the area.

A spokesperson from Lancashire Police said: "You may have noticed an increased police presence in and around the Peel Road area of Skelmersdale yesterday evening and this morning.
"We were called at around 7:35pm yesterday evening Thursday, February 8 to reports of a firearms discharge on Peel Road, Skelmersdale.
"Emergency services attended the scene with one man having suffered serious gunshot wounds. He was taken to hospital.
"No arrests have been made at this time. At this moment, we would ask that you avoid the area, and we will bring you an update when we are able to."

It comes after a man was shot dead after reportedly threatening to harm residents inside an address in Southwark, London.
The Metropolitan Police said: "Local officers attended and attempted to speak to the man but, after being threatened, armed officers were called and quickly attended the scene.
"The man had got inside the property, and a police firearm was discharged."
