Kay is reportedly hoping to officially announce plans for the tour in September.

The comedian, 48, had planned to host a Peter Kay Live Tour in 2017, but had to cancel his plans due to “unforeseen family circumstances".

An announcement on his Facebook page at the time read: "Due to unforeseen family circumstances, I deeply regret that I am having to cancel all of my upcoming work projects.

"This includes my upcoming stand-up tour, Dance for Life shows and any outstanding live work commitments.

"My sincerest apologies. I'm sure you'll understand that my family must always come first.”

Excited fans of the comedian have rushed to Twitter to speak out on the tour news, with one supporter writing: “Fantastic news hearing that Peter Kay will be touring again in 2023.”

While another added: Not being funny but ChrisBrown, Ndubz and Peter Kay …… WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE.”
