The 43-year-old Babyshambles and Libertines star said a chunk of one ear was bitten off in a pub and part of the other in a fight with paparazzi.
Doherty, who dated supermodel Kate Moss between 2005 and 2007, said he is “blessed to be alive” as he revealed he has swapped Britain for France with wife Katia De Vidas.
Reflecting on his drug-addled past, he claimed he is “surprised” not to be dead but now enjoys “a nice glass of water”.
He said: “I’ve got chunks missing all over the place.

“I was swinging at the paparazzi – the guy had me by the throat and bit off part of my earlobe.
“Someone else bit off my other earlobe in a pub in Stoke.
"I think he just wanted a souvenir.”
Doherty admitted he still craves fast food, but noted that there are no takeaway shops in the area of Normandy where he lives.
In conversation with The Observer, he said: “I’ve managed to get out of the addictive cycle but I’m surprised I’m not dead.
“I’m blessed to be alive, not sat in a hedge, injecting into my groin.”
He added: “I’d have a Big Mac if I could, but I can’t.
“The nearest McDonald’s is 40 minutes away.”
