The incident echoes similar concerns raised in January this year
Pet owners have been warned about potentially poisoned sausages after a dog reportedly died from eating one.
Posters have appeared around the neighbourhood in Bristol's Greenbank area, alerting residents to the incident that occurred on Cooperation Road.
The recent incident has sparked fears of a potential dog poisoner in the community, with residents encouraged to report any suspicious activity to the police.
According to the posters put up by worried pet owners, the incident occurred on Friday, 27 September.
The dog fell ill after consuming a sausage and despite being taken to the vet the following day, the pet tragically died on Sunday morning.
The anonymous posters state that "there's no doubt the sausage was poisoned" and that police are involved.

They urge local residents to keep their pets "safe and close" and to report any information about a potential dog poisoner to the authorities.
The warnings have been placed in various locations, including near the new Chocolate Factory development by Camerton Road according to the Bristol Post.
Local authorities are urging dog owners to be cautious and keep their pets close while walking in the area.
The poster also advises residents to inform other dog owners about the potential danger and asks anyone with information regarding suspicious activity or the alleged dog poisoner to contact the local police immediately.

At that time, reports emerged of poisoned meat in Greenbank cemetery, close to the current location.

A recent incident in January was reported after Tramadol tablets were found inside a sausage in the same area
A photo circulated locally showed a sausage cut in half and laced with Tramadol.
While the dog involved in that incident was unharmed, residents were advised to "be careful and keep an eye out for dog bait".
Dr Samantha Gaines, pet welfare expert at the RSPCA, told GB News: "We're so sorry to hear about this poor dog, and our thoughts are with their owners after such a sad time.
"It's very concerning to hear about any suspected poisoning in pets. It's really important that pet owners across Bristol and the rest of the country know the signs of poisoning, so they can take their animals to a vet immediately if they have concerns.
"Symptoms of poisoning can include vomiting, seeming depressed or sleepy, appearing drunk and uncoordinated, seizures and having difficulty breathing.
"It is always difficult to determine if incidents are accidental or deliberate, but poisoning an animal deliberately is a criminal offence.
"If a pet owner suspects their animal may have been poisoned, the RSPCA advises them to stay calm, remove their pet from the source of poison, contact their vet immediately, and follow their advice."
