A man was handed a suspended prison sentence after head-butting his mother's neighbour in a dispute over parking.
The confrontation happened on January 26, 2023, after defendant Michael Sergeant's mother threatened to position a lorry outside her neighbour's home in High Pittington, near Durham, following a disagreement.
Concerned the situation could escalate, the neighbour contacted the police to report what had happened.
Sergeant, aged 35, then positioned a cement-mixing truck on his mother's street, telling the neighbour to relocate his car.
Despite attempts to explain the vehicle would be moved by the neighbour's mother, Sergeant launched his attack.
Cainan Lonsdale, prosecuting, said Sergeant head-butted the neighbour multiple times before punching him, The Northern Echo reports.
Mr Lonsdale added that the shaken neighbour retreated to his home after the incident and was left with a "bust nose" and sore neck.
Sergeant, of Windsor Terrace, Haswell, in east Durham, denied a single count of assault causing actual bodily harm.

He was however convicted following a trial and later sentenced at Durham Crown Court.
In mitigation, John Crawford acknowledged the defendant accepted the jury's decision and requested non-custodial sentencing.
Sergeant was handed a 12-month suspended prison term.
He was also ordered to complete 200 hours of community service and pay his victim £500 in compensation at monthly instalments of £100.
