A woman has sparked a debate after writing a note to her upstairs neighbours about their noisy children.
For four years, the woman and her husband have lived on the ground floor of their apartment complex.
Their living situation changed when a new family with two young children moved into the unit directly above them.
The new neighbours' children have been "screeching, yelling and crying", according to the woman who shared her story on Reddit.

However, it wasn't these typical childhood noises that prompted her to pen a note to her neighbours.
Instead, she took particular issue with what she described as "disruptive and sometimes frightening" behaviour from the youngsters, who were constantly running and jumping around the apartment.
The woman explained in her post on Reddit: "We can deal with their screech, yells and crying, but our ceiling and walls shake with how loud and hard the kids run and jump around their apartment all day, and it's very disruptive and jarring.
"They also throw their toys off their balcony, where they also play. I'm glad they get to play outside on the balcony, but the landscapers think the toys that appear outside our unit belong to us and put them on our patio when the grass gets mowed."

After enduring this disruption, the woman decided to take action by writing a letter to her neighbours.
She planned to not only return the toys that had been mistakenly placed on her patio, but also to politely request that the family try to minimise the running and jumping that was causing such disturbance.
The woman shared the contents of her note online, asking Reddit users if it was appropriate.
The post received more than 700 comments, with many Reddit users supporting the woman's approach to the situation.

"Your note is extremely polite and understanding," wrote one commenter, who added that decent neighbours would make an effort to be accommodating.
However, some suggested she reconsider certain wording choices, particularly the use of "frightening" to describe the impact of the noise.
One person said: "As a parent, it is a very loaded word... It's one thing to be mindful of your neighbours, and it's another thing to be terrified of them."
Another added: "'Startling' might be better than 'frightening'."
Another expressed pessimism about the effectiveness of the woman's approach and stated: "Perfectly polite, but I doubt it'll change anything. Kids are gonna yell and scream."
