A homeowner has found herself in an ongoing dispute with her neighbour, who took the drastic step of chopping down her 6ft privacy fence.
Tamsin Griffin shared her ordeal on the social media platform TikTok, revealing how she was forced to rebuild the fence after her neighbour's action.
Griffin explained that her wall was originally 4ft high, but she needed to increase it to 6ft because she has dogs.
In the UK, garden fences can be as high as 100m, though planning permission is required for any fence taller than 2m.

The council had visited Griffin's property to inspect the fence and informed her that she would be permitted to build it even higher if desired.
Despite having council approval, Griffin's neighbour took matters into her own hands and chopped down the 6ft fence.
"The council had already been around her house to check it out and even explained that they would be allowed to go higher if they wanted to," she revealed.
Following the incident, the family rebuilt the fence to its original 6ft height; however, they took extra precautions by installing CCTV cameras to deter the neighbour from repeating her actions.
The homeowner revealed that initially, they had left gaps between the fence panels to allow light to pass through as a considerate gesture to her neighbour.
However, this attempt at compromise "backfired", according to her social media post.
As a result, the family is boarding up the fence completely until she can afford to have it professionally rebuilt.
Individuals have been reacting to the news on social media, in disbelief at the incident.

One user said: "Call police! That's destruction of property, your neighbour should be force to pay for that!"
"I think my blood pressure has gone up watching this, that's actually shocking," another added.
One individual took a different perspective and noted: "The fence is legal but hideous. I'd probably do the same as the neighbour.
"Unfortunately, once you fall out, both parties suffer, and you now live in a world of grim stubbornness and intractability."
