A man has sparked heated discussion online after revealing his neighbour's campaign of increasingly hostile windscreen notes following a parking dispute.

The conflict began when his mother left a polite request on the neighbour's vehicle asking them to move as it was blocking their driveway access.

The man took to Reddit to share his frustration, explaining that for the past four weeks he has been receiving retaliatory notes whenever he parks on the public street outside the neighbour's home.

Despite explaining that limited parking availability sometimes necessitates this arrangement, which he has followed for over six months, the notes have continued with growing intensity.

The latest note adopted a particularly personal tone, stating: "Being young and able-bodied, surely it would cause you little trouble to park a few houses down the street?

"Instead, you force my mother to do so, despite the large amount of pain and grief it causes her."

The message continued with accusations about his character: "This isn't about the law. This is about consideration, respect and care for the elderly, frail and disabled.

"I hope your parents are treated with more respect than you are displaying."

Reddit users responding to his post were quick to point out the apparent hypocrisy in the situation.

One commenter noted: "I had a neighbour like this, but I shut it down when I asked 'why don't you park in the street and let her park in your driveway?'"

Another user observed: "Sounds like someone doesn't let their disabled mother park in their driveway."

Practical suggestions also emerged, with one person recommending: "Use the same double-sided tape to put notes on their car every time they put one on your car that says, 'Please stop putting notes on my car'."

For removing the adhesive residue, a helpful commenter advised: "Wd40 will take that right off. Works well for those demented stickers that shops put on plates."
