A National Lottery winning dad revealed he headed straight to his local pub and ordered his usual drink after bagging £1million.
John Parker, 59, from County Durham, discovered he had won £1 million on EuroMillions and immediately walked into his neighbourhood pub to share the news.
Mr Parker said: "I just walked in and shouted, 'I'm a millionaire,' before ordering my usual!"
His friends initially thought he was joking until he showed them the winning notification on his National Lottery app.
The win arrived just weeks before Mr Parker's 60th birthday, transforming his planned celebrations at the same local pub.
Mr Parker's fortune came through matching the UK Millionaire Maker code MSDV09512 in the July 8 draw.
The father-of-two initially thought there had been an error when checking his online account after receiving a winning notification email.
He explained: "At first, I was confused though as my balance was exactly the same as before – £2.80. I checked again and saw that I had in fact won £1M! I really couldn't believe it and I just kept checking."

The winning moment occurred at his home, which sits almost next door to the pub where he rushed to share his news with friends and partner Lisa Beal, 47.
Mr Parker's birthday celebration has now taken on grander proportions thanks to his newfound wealth.
He said: "I have been planning my birthday party at our local pub for a while now, as I always knew I wanted all my friends and family in one room to help me celebrate. But winning means that we can go even bigger and even better. Drinks are on me!"
Beyond the milestone celebration, the couple are considering a getaway to Jamaica for some Caribbean sunshine.
They plan to use the tropical break to map out their financial future, with Mr Parker expressing interest in property investments to benefit his family.
