The 34-year-old also appears to have found a new love interest

A young couple who secured a £45million jackpot have fallen victim to the lottery curse after the childhood sweethearts announced their split.

Matt Topham, a decorator, and Cassey Carrington, an Iceland store supervisor, were both 22 when they lucked out by winning the EuroMillions in 2012.

The pair tied the knot later that year and went on to have three children.

However, Carrington last week confirmed the couple split and Topham has moved out.

The mother-of-three told The Sun: “Matt doesn’t live here anymore.”

When asked if she wanted to make any further comment about the break-up, Carrington replied: “No, thank you.”

Topham has not spoken publicly about the split but left a cryptic message on social media.

He said: “Sometimes, no matter how nice, kind, caring and loving you are, it just isn’t good enough for some people.”

The 34-year-old received a 16-week suspended jail sentence in 2021 after admitting to careless driving following the death of 75-year-old Mary Regler in North Cockerington, Lincolnshire.

Topham last shared a photo with Carrington in July 2021, four months after his sentencing at Lincoln Crown Court.

Topham appears to have found love once again, with social media snaps showing him with new partner Amy Cox outside the London Eye and on a ski trip.

He has also been seen collecting Cox from a £130,000 end-terrace home owned by her builder dad in a village near Lincoln.

A neighbour, who was unsure how the couple met, said: “I don’t think she has ever worked because she is busy looking after her children, who are all pre-schoolers.

“She has had a few boyfriends so it would be nice if she found happiness with Matt.”

Another added: “We had no idea he was a lottery winner. He comes around in his Maserati so he must still have a bob or two.”

Topham was forced to “shut down” Rushmoor Country Park last year after buying the zoo as a gift to mother-in-law Jane in 2020.
