The Bristol artist has been vocal with his support for the Colston 4, which is one factor that could determine whether the man pictured is actually him.

Photographs have now emerged of a mystery man outside the courtroom amid reports that it could be Banksy.

The street artist is famous the world over, but few people know his identity which has led to speculation over the years.

However, the anonymous Bristol artist has been vocal with his support for the Colston 4, which is one factor that could determine whether the man pictured outside the court could actually be him.

The defendants, known as the Colston Four are charged with pulling down Colston’s statue and are currently on trial in Bristol Crown Court.

But one of the photographs taken outside the court has sparked a lot of interest among Banksy fans. It shows a man in a yellow hat and a hoody, and rumours are circulating that it could be the anonymous artist. The photo can be found on the Bristol Post website.

On the 11th of December, thousands of people have queued outside shops in Bristol to buy limited edition T-shirts designed by world-famous street artist Banksy.

The shirts have a picture of Colston’s empty plinth with a rope hanging off, with debris and a discarded sign nearby and Bristol written above.

Banksy said proceeds from the sale would be given to the four people facing trial next week in the city accused of criminal damage.

In a post on Instagram, Banksy said: “Next week the four people charged with pulling down Colston’s statue in Bristol are going on trial.

“I’ve made some souvenir shirts to mark the occasion. Available from various outlets in the city from tomorrow. All proceeds to the defendants so they can go for a pint.”

Bristol-based Banksy said sales would be limited to one per person and each T-shirt would cost £25 plus VAT.
