Thomas Markle criticises Meghan and Harry, claiming they 'must have the worst PR team in the world'

In an exclusive interview with GB News, Meghan Markle's father Thomas Markle spoke to Dan Wootton about what damage is being done to the Royals.

The Duchess of Sussex, 40, sued the publisher of The Mail On Sunday, Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL), over five articles that reproduced parts of a “personal and private” letter sent to her father Thomas Markle, 77, in August 2018.

Speaking to GB News' Dan Wootton, Thomas Markle said: ‘I have the greatest respect for the Queen and for the royal family, especially the Queen. I don’t think she would ever recommend anyone to write a letter like I received.

Thomas Markle claimed he had 'no idea all of this would happen around that letter'.

Speaking about his opinions of Prince Harry, Thomas Markle said he thought 'maybe he was dropped on his head as a baby. Everything that comes out of his mouth is stupid.'

Thomas Markle told Dan Wootton on GB News there was 'a separation' between him and daughter Meghan Markle after she met Prince Harry, saying 'suddenly I became ghosted.'

Thomas Markle reflected on suggestions that Meghan was encouraged to visit him in Mexico: "I invited them down several times. I’m very disappointed that Harry, wanting to marry my daughter, wouldn’t have had the good sense to come down here and ask for her hand."

Meghan Markle has since apologised for misleading the court over her recollection of the information given by her aides to the authors of an unauthorised biography about her and her husband.

The High Court ruled earlier this year that ANL’s publication of Meghan’s letter to her father was unlawful, entering summary judgment for Meghan and avoiding the need for a trial.

But ANL is challenging that ruling at the Court of Appeal, arguing the case should go to a trial on Meghan’s claims including breach of privacy and copyright.

The couple's former communications secretary, Jason Knauf, told the court he had provided information on Meghan's behalf and regretted not providing evidence in the original court case.
