He told GB News: "Here is somebody who never really signed up to be a member of the Royal Family.
"What she really wanted was to have the mantle of Diana thrust upon her and to do whatever she wanted."
The sister of US President Joe Biden has publicly called for the Duchess of Sussex to join the Democrat party, as she would make a good future leader.

Mr Mellor added that Meghan truly believes she would make a good President and that her ambition knows no bounds.
He added: "There is no end to her vaulting ambition.
"This woman worked on a soap in Toronto and now she is catapulted into the big leagues, I think she thinks she could be President of the United States."
"What I want is her and Harry out of the Royal Family. Why are they coming back for the Platinum Jubilee?
"They're not going to be allowed on the balcony. They're doing it for their American television series.
"What they can't afford for the brand is not to be there, because being there even in a peripheral capacity is the only reason Netflix will pay them a lot of money."
