Neighbours described the scene as 'quite frightening' as armed police descended on the German home

The home of a man linked to Christian Brueckner - the prime suspect in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann - has been raided by police.

In a search for new information, armed police descended on Ralph H's property in Braunschweig, Germany last week.

The 56-year-old is thought to have worked closely with his neighbour Brueckner.

However, Ralph H is not a suspect in the disappearance of the British toddler.

Neighbours described the scene as "quite frightening" as armed police jumped over fences and shouted his name.

But one local resident told police that he had not been seen in almost a week.

The BKA – the Bundeskriminalamt, the equivalent of the FBI in Germany are hoping to speak to Ralph H about his time robbing homes with Brueckner.

"We must find him to ask him about missing Madeleine McCann," a source told The Sun.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

"He’s not at home, he doesn’t answer the phone, he’s apparently disappeared."

Prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters said: "He’s a neighbour who could be interesting to talk to, but we can’t give out any details on operative matters."

One neighbour claimed he and Brueckner were involved in "various schemes" including growing and selling marijuana together.

Is it also believed that Ralph H knew what kind of crimes Brueckner was involved with on the dark web.

Officers were unable to break into his home as they did not have a search warrant.

His home has been described as "a fortress" with various CCTV cameras and motion detectors.

Brueckner is currently on trial in Germany for three counts of rapes and two sex assaults.
