London double stabbing: One dead and one in hospital after attack in Marylebone

A man has died and another has been injured in a double stabbing in west London.

Emergency services were called just before 3:30pm to reports of a stabbing attack in Lilestone Street, near Marylebone railway station.

London's air ambulance was also called to the scene after two victims were discovered with multiple stab wounds.

Despite the efforts of medical trauma teams, one man, believed to be in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second man has been rushed to hospital.

The extent of his injuries are not yet known.

A crime scene remains in place around the area where the stabbings occurred.

Detective Chief Superintendent Owain Richard's, the area's local policing commander said: "This is a tragic incident and I am deeply saddened that another young life has been lost to knife crime on the streets of London.

"I know the community will join me in sending our thoughts to the victim's family at this awful time.

"I appreciate people will want answers about what happened, but I would like to ask that our dedicated teams of detectives are given the time and space they need to conduct their enquiries.

"A large number of officers will remain in the area and I'd encourage anyone with concerns to speak to them."

Scotland Yard has confirmed no arrests have been made yet in connection with the stabbings.
