Witnesses report seeing the vehicle 'crashing into a store'

A bus has crashed into a pub near Oxford Street in London as surrounding roads remain closed.

Witnesses report seeing the vehicle "crashing in to a building" on new Oxford Street near Tottenham Court Road.


Images show a yellow double decker bus crashed into a window with glass smashed all over the pavement.

Emergency services said one man was "being assessed on scene by London Ambulance Service crews".

The man has "left the bus before the brigade's arrival", according to London's fire service.

Areas surrounding Oxford Street and Tottenham Court Road are facing traffic delays following the incident.

New Oxford Street remains closed with two fire engines remaining at the scene.

The Met Police have confirmed there have been no further reported injuries.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

A force spokesperson said: "We were called at 10.16am on Tuesday, March 5, to reports that a bus had collided with a pub in New Oxford Street, WC1.

"Officers responded. There were no reports of any injuries."

London Fire Brigade added: "Firefighters are at the scene of a road traffic collision on New Oxford Street in Soho.

"One double-decker bus collided into the front of a building.

Roads surrounding New Oxford Street are facing traffic delays following the incident.

"One man left the bus before the Brigade's arrival and is being assessed on scene by London Ambulance Service crews.

"There are currently no further reports of injuries. Road closures are in place and people are advised to avoid the area at this time.

"The Brigade was called at 10.11am. Two fire engines and two fire and rescue units from Soho, Euston and Battersea fire stations are at the scene."
