Liam Gallagher has issued an apology after posting a death threat aimed at Atletico Madrid star Stefan Savic.
The ex-Oasis frontman made the threat following Manchester City’s 0-0 Champions League semi-final second leg draw against the Spanish giants on Wednesday night, a fixture which turned nasty when a mass brawl broke out between the teams.
Savic, who played for City between 2011 and 2012, was at the centre of the altercation in the second half, and was even seen pulling on Jack Grealish’s hair.
The tension spilled into the tunnel after the match, with players having to be pulled apart by staff members while police were also forced to intervene.

Speaking on the incident, Gallagher said on Twitter: "Stefan Savic this is a threat if I come across you ya goofy looking C*** your dead MCFC."
He has since removed the tweet and instead issued a new statement apologising for his "outlandish behaviour".
He said: "I’m really upset and annoyed at myself I feel I’ve let all my fans down by my outlandish behaviour I’m a role model to GROWN UPS hope you can forgive me.
"Love love love peace peace peace forgive forgive forgive kiss kiss kiss."
Atletico were slammed for their actions during Wednesday's match by many across the football world, including former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand.
Mr Ferdinand said: "Disgraceful behaviour from the Atletico players, they should be embarrassed with some of the antics they have gone on."
“You have to say, talking about football, well done to Atletico Madrid as they made Manchester City play in a way we haven't seen for a long time, took them out of their rhythm and their stride, but some of the stuff towards the end was not what you want to see on a football pitch," he told BT Sport.
Manchester City clinched the tie 1-0 on aggregate after a Kevin De Bruyne goal helped them win the first leg in Manchester last week.
They will now play Atletico’s arch rivals, Real Madrid in the competition's semi final.
