Just Stop Oil has now posted about the march on their social media.

A spokesperson from the organisation said: "18 Just Stop Oil Supporters March from Trafalgar Square to Whitehall.

" Yesterday, three young people were sent to prison for marching, and 28 people are in police custody to appear in court today. Join us tomorrow, 12pm, Jubilee Gardens."

It comes after a demonstration staged by Just Stop Oil protesters was shut down by the police in just 11 minutes earlier this week.

The officers arrested 23 Just Stop Oil (JSO) members in just over 10 minutes.

The slow marchers were cleared off the road and moved onto the pavement.

The group is calling on the government to commit to ending new fossil fuel licensing and production.
