Joe Biden has claimed that Russia forces are pulling out of the Iraqi City, Fallujah in the latest of a string of embarrassing gaffes by the US President.
Mr Biden’s mistake comes after Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu ordered his troops to withdraw from the west bank of the Dnipro River near the strategic southern Ukrainian city of Kherson, a significant setback for Moscow and potential turning point in the war.
Speaking about the withdrawal, the US President said: “I think the context is that whether or not they’re pulling back from Fallujah, from the city of Kherson.
“And (Russian forces) are coming back across the river to the eastern side of the river.”

He added: “We knew for some time that they were going to be going as evidence of the fact that they have some real problems in the Russian military.
“It remains to be seen whether or not there’ll be a judgment made as to whether or not Ukraine is prepared to compromise with Russia.”
It was not revealed as to why Mr Biden made the mistake.
Fallujah was the location for a battle during the US invasion of Iraq in 2004, with around 12,000 American soldiers involved.
It comes just days after Mr Biden stumbled on stage during a rally ahead of the US 2022 midterm election.
The President travelled to Yonkers to show support for Democratic governor Kathy Hochul.
Video footage shows the 79-year-old speaking to the crowd about introducing a cap on prescription drugs, before having a slight tumble, resulting in him needing a moment to recollect his thoughts.
As the crowd appeared to show concern with a gasp, Mr Biden, while looking at the floor, continued his speech.
