Jim Davidson has questioned “once you start to censor comedy and what people can laugh at and what they can't, where will it end.”
His comments come after an Edinburgh Fringe show by comedian Jerry Sadowitz was cancelled by venue bosses.
The comic and magician had been set to take to the stage in The Pleasance at Edinburgh International Conference Centre on Friday and Saturday.
But The Pleasance said the second show would not go ahead as the performance "does not align with our values".

Reacting to the news of the cancelled show, Mr Davidson said on GB News’ Dan Wootton Tonight that “the wokeness has taken over.”
Mr Davidson said: “The thing that really is slightly annoying is they knew exactly what he was going to do, we know exactly what act we were going to get.
“They even put a warning out about it and I don’t think it’s the punters at all I think it’s someone from in the council area who said ‘I don’t think we’ll like that very much, I don’t think we want to do that’.
“And so the wokeness has taken over.
“And here’s the scary thing, they’ve put out a statement saying it doesn’t reflect the values that we have, who’s the we? Your values don’t really mean anything to me, I want to see a comedian.
“And they said it’s also not acceptable in character, so that means the old Pub Landlord, who I think Is brilliant, can’t do what he’s doing in character because its just as bad.
“Isn’t every comedian in character?”
He added: “I feel for this guy, once you start to censor comedy and what people can laugh at and what they can't, where will it end, Dan.”
