Cannigione is a small seaside village in Sardinia.
It is located right next to the popular Costa Smeralda, a 10 km stretch of beautiful coastline.
The area is a former fishing village and it is a very popular spot for water-sport enthusiasts, as well as fans of snorkeling and scuba diving.
In May, four people died after a boat capsized on Lake Maggiore, another popular tourist destination and the second biggest lake in Italy.
The boat had been carrying 21 people, including British tourists.
A large storm capsized the large 52ft boat, with four drowning and the rest managing to swim to safety.
Those who died in the incident included an Israeli man, an Italian man and woman, and the skipper’s wife, who was Russian.
They were found in the water by local rescuers.
