On Alastair Stewart and Friends, the Chair of the Education Select Committee Robert Halfon called on Boris Johnson to give education the same importance as the NHS as well as "real long term plan."
Mr Halfon also said the government need to prioritise "standards, skills, social justice, support for the profession and a secure funding settlement."
The MP for Harlow in Essex, attacked the Department for Education, accusing it of issuing announcements without an overall strategy.
"Often the Department for Education issues some very good announcements, but it's a series of clothes pegs without a washing line."
