GB News Radio is the fastest-growing station in the UK market

GB News Radio reached 239,000 listeners a week in its first three months on air, making it the fastest-growing radio station in the UK market.

In RAJAR official listening figures released today, GB News Radio grew its audience by more than any other station except the World Service, eclipsing talkRADIO’s launch.

The fledgling station recorded more than 1.5 million listening hours, attracting a highly engaged audience who tuned in for an average 6.3 hours a week each, beating the more established Times Radio (5.2hrs) and gaining strongly on talkRADIO (8.8hrs) and LBC (9hrs).

GB News Chief Executive Officer Angelos Frangopoulos said: “After just one quarter on air, we are already at 37% of our closest competitor's weekly reach, so this is an excellent debut, especially as we haven’t promoted the station yet.”

Achieving a RAJAR result allows GB News Radio to introduce advertising for the first time. “As the fastest-growing radio station in the UK market, GB News is now a compelling multichannel offering for clients across all platforms,” Mr Frangopoulos said.

He added: “We’re growing fast on television, digital, and now radio because British listeners, especially in non-metropolitan areas, relate to the authentic and warm way we tap into the issues they care about. These ratings prove we really are the People’s Channel.”

GB News Radio’s best-performing programmes were Breakfast with Eamonn and Isabel during the week, Breakfast with Stephen and Anne at weekends, Alastair Stewart & Friends at weekends, To The Point, on weekday mornings, and Brazier in Drivetime at 4pm.
