Meghan Markle's half-sister Samantha told to GB News' Dan Wootton that she believes that remarks in the Duchess of Sussex's book with Omid Scobie were "defamatory".
Dan Wootton asked Samantha Markle if she believed she could have legal recourse against her half-sister after Samantha Markle called claims in Meghan Markle's book 'libellous'.
Samantha Markle has criticised Meghan a number of times since she was publicly linked with the Duke of Sussex, and has published a book called The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister Part 1.
In an exclusive interview with GB News, Samantha Markle said "why does she so desperately want to paint a picture of me that I'm either not credible or that I'm sort some sort of dodgy woman."
"I'm her older sister in a wheelchair. I think the goal clearly was to discredit me to discredit my father because then if we did speak out, we wouldn't have credibility."
"If when her porky Pies slipped out, you know, the stories would contradict. She had no reason for going through all of this," said Samantha Markle.
Asked how she felt about the book by Oprah Winfrey in her explosive interview with the talk show host, Meghan said: “This is a very different situation than my dad, when we talk about betrayal, betrayal comes from someone you have a relationship with.
“I don’t feel comfortable talking about people that I really don’t know but I grew up as an only child, which everyone who grew up around me knows, and I wished I had siblings, I would have loved to have had siblings.”
Meghan said she was excited to be pregnant with her second child so her son Archie would have a sibling.
She added: “The last time I saw her (Samantha) must have been at least 18 or 19 years ago, and then before that, 10 years before that.”
She said they were “not close”, adding: “She changed her last name back to Markle, she was in her early 50s at that time, only when I started dating Harry, so I think that says enough.”
Samantha Markle said: "I think it's really unfair that both she and you know the publisher and Omid Scobie, knowing that these things were not true, put them in there"
Samantha Markle accused her half-sister Meghan Markle of "profiting off" her "detriment", saying "I hear people still say, even journalists or broadcasters, that Samantha, yeah, there's that Samantha well people roll their eyes and they get that impression because of the overall picture."
