The US president is expected to visit his golf resorts at Turnberry on the Ayrshire coast and Menie in Aberdeenshire as well as meeting the UK Prime Minister and the Scottish First Minister.
He will subsequently travel to Aberdeenshire to inaugurate a new coastal links course, whilst also holding meetings with British media executives during his stay.
Trump is due to return to the UK for an official state visit in September.
Keir Starmer will be meeting with Trump and the encounter is being characterised by officials as an opportunity for relationship building rather than major policy announcements, ahead of Trump's formal state visit.
Earlier today Trump told reporters: "We have a lot of things in Scotland.
"I have a lot of love, my mother was born in Scotland.
"And he's a good man, the Scottish leader's a good man. So, I look forward to meeting him."
