A man has been charged with stabbing his father to death in south-east London.

Police were called to Widmore Road, Bromley, just before 11pm on Tuesday, where they found Paul Maurice, 51, with multiple stab wounds.

His son, Sean Maurice, 29, was charged with his murder on Wednesday.

He appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Thursday and was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on Monday.

Officers had attended the scene with London Ambulance Service paramedics and a London Air Ambulance crew.

Paul Maurice was given emergency medical treatment at the scene but was pronounced dead just before midnight.

His next-of-kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

A post-mortem examination gave the cause of his death as stab wounds to his chest, the Metropolitan Police said.
