A man in his 70s has been arrested on suspicion of encouraging people to attack politician's offices, following the introduction of Plan B Covid restrictions by the Government.
The Metropolitan Police said the man – who it did not name – was arrested in south London in the early hours of Sunday.
"A man, aged in his 70s, has been arrested on suspicion of encouragement to commit arson.
"He was arrested in Southwark at around 01:45hrs on Sunday, 19 December.
"The arrest relates to a video posted online in which people were encouraged to burn down MPs’ offices.
Plan B measures, which include vaccine passports in large events, working from home guidance and expansion of settings in which masks are required, were announced by Boris Johnson last week.
Rising Omicron cases may see further restrictions introduced after Christmas, including a potential two-week circuit-breaker lockdown.
