NHS bosses have been ordered to unveil the fate of 9,000 young transgender people

Commentator Carole Malone has hit out at the doctors who "wilfully obstructed" the investigations of Dr Hilary Cass, following the publication of the Cass Review.

It has been revealed that doctors at six out of seven clinics which participated in the Cass Review refused to offer their data.

In the report's findings, Dr Cass said young people with gender issues have been "let down" by the NHS, and has called for gender services for young people to "match the standards of other NHS care".

Reacting to the latest development in the report, Malone said she was "shocked to her bones" by its initial findings, but now it has been "made worse" by the latest revelation.

Malone told GB News: "Some of the NHS refused to cooperate with Hilary Cass. This is astonishing. Why are they doing that?

"Is it because they know the damage they're causing to kids and are trying to hide that? Because that would be the only excuse for them not to cooperate."

Discussing the findings of the "damning" report, which found that the "steep rise in gender reassignment was driven not by science but by ideology" Malone said the conclusions were "shocking".

She said: "The left are backpedaling like crazy. These were the ones who were all in favour of these clinics and saying these were all disturbed, upset kids and their rights were being eroded by them not being allowed to change sex? It's all nonsense now."

GB News host Andrew Pierce called for there to be "criminal prosecutions" for those in clinics who were "driven by ideology" and did not cooperate in the Cass Review.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

Malone fumed: "The NHS have said that 9000 patients referred from child clinics to adult clinics. We've now got to find out what's happened to them because lives were wrecked, bones wrecked, bodies wrecked, and minds wrecked."

Andrew agreed, noting: "Children have been physically and mentally harmed by taking these drugs. It's clear they didn't know the consequences and the side effects of these drugs. She's [Cass] absolutely clear that they didn't know that.

Andrew asked commentator Nichi Hodgson: "Why were these doctors permitted to do it? They should face criminal prosecutions?"

Hodgson argued: "Their argument would be that when you're dealing with things like childhood leukaemia or something, you have to do a kind of experimental treatment."

Host Bev Turner interjected: "This is why they won't cooperate, the drug companies, because they are being experimental."

Hodgson agreed, adding: "Absolutely, and they'll be sued for it. What's really damning about this report is also something that was never interrogated, which is why to all these kids want to transition.

"Why do a majority of girls want to transition to being boys? The reasons are various, but they have to do with social media, peer pressure. They have to do with misogyny in society. There are little girls thinking it might just be easier if I was a boy."

An NHS spokesperson said of the review: "NHS England is very grateful to Dr Cass and her team for their comprehensive work on this important review over the past four years.

"The NHS has made significant progress towards establishing a fundamentally different gender service for children and young people, in line with earlier advice by Dr Cass and following extensive public consultation and engagement, by stopping the routine use of puberty suppressing hormones and opening the first of up to eight new regional centres delivering a different model of care."
